After you leave Brunel you are permitted to continue using your RefWorks account but you would need to pay for your own Office 365 licence to continue using the RCM add-in. If you find that RCM fails to load on a subsequent session, you may need to sign in to MS Office 365 (for example via the Brunel Connect Portal above) before RCM will be enabled. You may obtain the package by logging on to the Brunel Connect Portal ( ) and then, under My Apps, sign in to Microsoft Office 365. * Brunel University London now offers all members a version of Microsoft Office 365 free, under an educational licence, for the duration of your studies (staff members may also take advantage of this offer). If it is a new document- remember to save your new document with a filename first! Use the "Cite This" or "Edit This" buttons to enter or modify your citations into your Word document. Enter your RefWorks log in details to view your citations. Use the "hamburger" menu to change to your required citation output style. RCM should open on Word's right-hand pane. Select the Got it button and/or select the RCM menu and select the RefWorks Citation Manager button on the left of the ribbon. You should find RCM on Word's menu bar - an advisory notification should open on first access. Select the RCM button and select Add at the bottom of the pane. The RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) add-in is a trusted application issued by our provider, ProQuest. Then select the Admin Managed tab and check if RefWorks Citation Manager (ProQuest) is available (see below - if the RCM app is not available or not selectable, please contact the Office 365 Team via the "Need IT assistance" button on the BUL Microsoft 365 Training Site - and ask for RefWorks Citation Manager to be enabled on your ADMIN MANAGED Add-ins tab). You may install RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) from Word's Insert tab > Add-ins > Get Add-ins RefWorks Citation Manager is compatible with either legacy RefWorks 2.0 or with new RefWorks 3.0. New users may choose to start with the new version of RefWorks 3.0 now and use the RCM add-in immediately. Mac users who only have Microsoft Word 2016 should use the new RefWorks Citation Manager Add-In as Write-N-Cite is not compatible with Word 2016 (please note: Word 2019 is not compatible with Write-N-Cite at all). RefWorks Citation Manager is a reference manager for use with Word 2016 or Word 2019 on either Windows or Mac OSX (*see below).
